Repair those faulty gauges....
A little info on these clusters and what i do.......
GM cars and trucks are no stranger to various types of instrument cluster and gauge problems. More specifically, model years 2003 thru 2006 (give or take a couple years depending on the model). There was even a class action settlement awarded to eligible GM owners. More info on that is available here.
These particular year GM instrument clusters use rescinded stepper motors. So its not a matter of if your gauges will fail, but when.
The only problem is that in order to qualify for these repairs, your vehicle can be no older than 7 years and have no more than 70,000 miles, whichever comes first. Odds are if you're reading this, your vehicle no longer falls within these terms and if you price a cluster at the dealer your looking at anywhere from $500-$800 after labor and programming fees. And the catch is you wont be getting a new instrument cluster, you'll be getting a remanufactured unit.
The good news is I can help. I can repair your faulty instrument cluster to work like new, but better, with new upgraded parts. And all at a fraction of the cost.
A little info on the work i perform.......
Each cluster I rebuild gets new and updated Switec Juken x27.168 stepper motors (the same stepper motors GM certified Delphi techs use) and new incandescent backlight bulbs installed regardless of functionality. Problems also addressed in a complete rebuild include a dim gear position indicator display (PRND321) and intermittent to complete power loss issues (bang on cluster to get it to work). Keep in mind, if you do have these total power loss issues to the entire cluster, it is likely you still have backlights and blinkers because they run on a totally different circuit.
I also do LED backlight upgrades, SS conversions, Escalade conversions, and programming to add a transmission temp gauge to a Non-HD cluster. I carry many custom gauge faces and custom gauge pointers, so if you're looking to create something a little different, let me know.
Common symptoms include.......
Sticky/Stuck or erratic gauges.
Gauges reading past their maximum marked values or inaccurate readings.
Dim or blank gear position indicator display.
Complete power loss issues to all gauges including digital odometer/DIC display.
